Reclaiming the City. by Stefan Rusu

2012

The film “Reclaiming the City” introduces a combination of travel and interviews, archival records, personal stories and public events, telling about new Berlin. These stories allow us to see the contradictions and tensions of public memory and national identity at the end of the 20th and early 21st centuries. The film is a research paper that captivates the audience in dramatic processes of changing public space as a result of social and economic changes and urban transformation following the fall of the Berlin Wall, as well as the recruiting strategies.
