Dienstag Abend N90 is both an artists‘ collective and an event format, was founded in 2009 at Kunstraum Ve.Sch by Ludwig Kittinger and Fernando Mesquita, in 2015 joined by Ana de Almeida, Sophie Thun, Dorota Walentynowicz and Phelim McConigly. Based in Vienna, activities are implemented throughout various locations in the form of numbered editions.
No.90 is considered to be a situation composed of its actors, the local environment and the collective mechanisms that are triggered in each of our project editions. It deals with questions of curation and new forms of the display being that the collaborative project is a reflection of the very process of intervening in a space. What are the inherent effects upon a specific place in the urban landscape while faced with an artistic intervention and which are the implicit power relations within an intervention that happens outside the place’s own dynamics?
At ICA Yerevan the artists intend to explore this and other questions through a community-based, site-specific curatorial process and artistic practice in visual arts. The inquiry they aim at raising with their initiative will be deconstructed, materialized and subsequently transmitted to an audience through a workshop /exchange program with local artists as well as through an exhibition.
